Gravel in Paradise: Round 2

WHITE ROCKS GRAVEL ADVENTURE

April 16th 2023 incorporating CALECT RIDE STRONG

There are two events on offer

  • The White Rocks Gravel Adventure
This is a 46 km community ride over a roller coaster course showing off some of the best vistas of Nth Otago. Wide panoramic views of the Waitaki and Kakanui Mountains is a feature with some thrilling downhill sections. Shorter than previous hostings of this event it starts and finishers within the historic Elderslie Estate, riders are encouraged to mingle with the other riders and take their time to soak up what’s on offer
  • White Rocks +
This is a different beast altogether and offers the riders the opportunity to compete on what is a unique and testing short course gravel event. The event is 18km longer, than the standard course, has 3-4 more climbs which involve a total of 997 metres of climbing on its 65km length. Any rider should be well pleased to attain a fulfilling finish on this strength tester. The course is also different to prior hostings in that it stays mainly on roads avoiding the wetlands between Windsor and Elderslie.

See maps for details on both events. The White Rocks Gravel Adventure is being held in conjunction with Ride Strong, one of a series of farming community events. The course for Calect Ride Strong is the same as for the White Rocks Gravel Adventure [46km]

Riders meet at the Elderslie Estate approx. 15km inland from Oamaru on the Weston Ngapara Rd at 10.15am April 16th for an 11.00am start.
